2018-2019 SEASON

Louisiana Dance Powerhouse offers a variety of classes with options available for students ages 3-adults. Class placement is determined according to age and ability. Adjustments may be made in August to confirm that students are placed in the correct classes. Final decisions about class placement will be made by the teachers.

Dance Combination Classes (Ages 3+)

Our combo classes provides our students with a strong foundation in dance technique while developing discipline, grace, poise, coordination, strength, flexibility, and enhance the dancer's creativity, technical, and performance ability.  Primary classes perform 2 routines in our annual revue. All other classes perform 3 routines.

Graduate Requirements:

The following requirements must be met in order to graduate and receive a diploma from LADP:

  1. Have at least 7 years of dance
  2. Enroll in BOTH a combination class and ballet class throughout high school, 9th-12th grade.
  3. Have at least 3 years of student teaching, of which 2 of those years must take place from 9th-12th grade.
  4. Have at least 2 years as a Sugar Dolls Marching Team member, which must take place during 9th-12th grade.

HIP HOP (Ages 4+)

As of one of the most popular forms of dance today, Hip Hop at LADP is a high energy class teaching students to express themselves through free style movements to help develop their own sense of style. This is a performance class and will perform a routine in our annual revue.

EXTRA BALLET (Ages 7+)

Ballet is the foundation of all dance. This class is offered for students who desire to further their dance training and technique in classical ballet. This is a performance class and will perform a routine in our annual revue.

POINTE (Ages 11+)

Designed for students with previous ballet training to utilize previously learned ballet technique and concepts while working in pointe shoes with a focus on strengthening the feet and ankles. PreRequisite - At teacher's discretion; Students must be enrolled in Extra Ballet and have previous years of dance experience.

CHEER & TUMBLING (Ages 3+)

Cheer & Tumbling classes at LADP will train students with the proper technique to excel in the sport of cheerleading and to prepare students for middle and high school cheerleading in a non-competitive environment. This class primarily focus on tumbling, jumps, and motions (no stunts). This is a performance class and will perform a routine in our annual revue.

ACROGYM (Ages 7+)

Our AcroGym class fuses acrobatic movment and tumbling. This class will help dancers with overall strength, flexibility, and balance. This is a non-performance class and does not participate in the revue.

Dance Bag: All students need a bag to carry shoes and other items to and from the studio.
